附：康景轩教授简介 康景轩教授1984年广东医学院毕业，1993年加拿大Alberta大学获得博士学位，此后在哈佛大学医学院完成博士后学习。现为哈佛大学医学院教授、麻萨诸塞州综合性医院脂类医学与技术研究实验室主任。 康景轩教授目前是国际著名脂类营养研究专家，主要研究Omega-3 脂肪酸的健康效应，他在ω－3脂肪酸预防和治疗心率不齐和猝死中的作用及机制研究方面做出了开创性工作，同时利用转基因技术成功建立起世界上第一个在体内将ω－6脂肪酸转化为ω－3脂肪酸的哺乳动物模型和家畜（猪）模型，这有效解决了人类ω－3脂肪酸来源困难的问题，对农业和食品工业和ω－3脂肪酸健康效应研究都带来了革命性影响。他的这两大研究分别被评为2006和2007全球100个顶级的研究成果（分列第38位和第24位）。相关研究工作已在Nature 、Sciene 、Lancet、 PNAS、 Nature Medicine、 Nature Biotechnology等国际著名刊物上发表论文100余篇，获得多项国际专利，在过去的五年中受邀在国际性学术会议作学术报告约60场次。 Jing Xuan Kang, M.D., Ph.D., received his M.D. from the Guangdong Medical College (China) in 1984, his Ph.D. in medical biochemistry from the University of Alberta (Canada) in 1993 and his postdoctoral training at the Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA). Dr. Kang is currently a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and director of Laboratory for Lipid Medicine and Technology (focusing on omega-3 biotechnology and lipidomics) at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is one of the leading scientists in the field of lipid nutrition. He studies the health effects of omega-3 fatty acids, how they work and how genetic technologies can be used to further the benefits. He has been a pioneer in demonstrating the efficacy of omega-3 fatty acids in prevention and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death, and in elucidating the mechanism of their action. He is the inventor of the revolutionary biotechnology for producing the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids in animals, and has generated the world’s first transgenic mammal (mice) as well as the first transgenic livestock (pig) that is capable of converting omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids. Two of his studies were listed among “Top 100 Science Stories” (one in 2006 with a rank of 38th and another in 2007 ranked at 24th among all fields of science worldwide) by Discover magazine. He was also named as one of “The Best and Brightest 2007” by Esquire magazine. He holds several U.S. patents related to his research work. Dr. Kang have published more than 100 scientific papers in high-impact international scientific journals and books including Nature, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Medicine, Lancet, PNAS and Science, and have been invited to be a keynote speaker at numerous international conferences. He is a founding Board Member of the International Society of Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics. |
